I now find that after the hard hard slog of preparing for and then being part of a huge integration process, I currently have tons of spare time...3 weeks to go before redundancy! The daily challenges have disappeared, and with most of the employees now gone sadly the office is incredibly quiet.
So what do you do with yourself each day that you rock into the office ready to do something, anything...aaannny-thing-at-all?? Hmmmm start a blog? But what to write when it appears you have not a lot happening, when you have answered the few queries received from the counterparts in Melbourne (and boy am I lucky to get a query...woooo how long can I drag this out for...oh darn 5 min's...now what???).
Now that my resume has been tweaked, re-written, re-jigged and tweaked some more for a job that I might apply for in three months time, I find that I just am not very interested in looking at the job market, after all I did promise myself and James that I would enjoy the summer off to take a holiday, paint the house, and host the parentals at Christmas...and its quite likely I will never have the opportunity to enjoy the summer off like this again. So what to do with my days now that I have a) answered the single query and b) have prepared myself for a job that I will apply for at some stage?
I find myself looking at wedding stuff, for me the girl that has never been too interested in planning a wedding, I am starting to get into it a lot more than I thought. When James proposed, the first thing I said was obviously "Yes" and then "We don't have to get married for a while, yeah?" Don't get me wrong, I love a good wedding, I'm just not much of a planner, its not my forte.
So I have started reading wedding blogs, and was inspired to start my own...my own what???? So its going to be baby steps with the easy stuff for now...things I like and ideas that might fit in with our style of wedding.
In which you may ask (or not) what kind of wedding do you want? In that I am not sure, but currently freaking out a little with the sheer magnanimity of some weddings inviting the 200+ guests with gigantic reception venues, so many flowers that everyone needs to take a dose of Claratyne and me having to wear layer upon layer of fru-fru meringue.
So far the musings are of a rustic-vintage feel, possibly on James' parents farm in New Zealand, with a marquee reception, in which we have a relatively laid back day because it is our day to share and celebrate with family and friends.
