The Ones...

After deliberating and hunting for a pair of brown boots for winter I have finally found the ones!

Funny time of year to be buying winter boots - Yes its stinking hot right now being Summertime and definitely shorts & Jandals weather, you may think "but you live in Australia, why would you need boots? The land of perpetual sunshine".  It does get cold, not NZ bottom of the South Island cold, or UK glum gloomy winter cold, but it does get cold.  And as Summertime is long and fantastic, as soon as the sun hides and the temp drops to a "mild 24 degrees" everyone huddles indoors, reaches for the scarves and pulls out the winter boots.  No matter where I live I get to continue wearing long boots over jeans as my winter style (which I love and am glad its here to stay).

So trawling the world-wide-web where "oh hooray, looks like winter in the Northern Hemisphere", I am able to find beautiful glorious winter boots at the touch of a keyboard...I am sold on a pair by Jeffrey Campbell, so one click later they are now making their way international post, destination my wardrobe!

Cant get enough of ♫ ♪

Just sharing a song that is currently at the top of my playlist - Lay it down, by a group called The Rubens.

The Rubens are a 4 piece band from Menangle, NSW consisting of 3 brothers and a childhood friend on the drums. Forming in February 2011 the boys are pushing out blues tunes soaked in copious amounts of soul.

What to wear?

This year a group of us are planning on heading to the Cuban Club on New Years day where this years theme is...bringing Miami to the people.

So it's all about perfect pastels, chinos and the classic fedora.  Arguably the most exclusive and glamorous day of the summer, Cuban Club encapsulates everything that is inimitable about Perth, the sun, summer tans and all out party people.

Definitely an event I am looking forward to, and so the biggest decision for any girl heading out to celebrate the New Year is what to wear?

So here are three of my current favourite options (it seems my wardrobe is packed with dresses, although you can never have too many dresses) so now I am having trouble deciding on which one, what one...its too hard as I love them all!

Free People - Tea For 2 Dress

Hair Glorious Hair

 I AM LOVING THIS STYLE...
{and her hair colour + make-up = gorgeous!}

To get the look…

Gently backcomb the front section off your hair, then finger-smooth it back so it still has some texture. Spray with a fine hairspray. Next, separate the rest of your hair into four pieces. Twist, roll, and gently secure each section with a bobby pin or two.  Ready to go a look that suits both day & evening.

The easy part...Completed

Trawling the web, looking at clothing (especially dresses) is something that I can sit and do for hours, for me its relaxing, I don't have to think too hard and I can sit and indulge my wants.

So along the way it seems only natural that the first thing that I have decided on for the wedding is the dress...some may find that this is the hardest part in planning a wedding, but for me once I saw this Allure dress, the search was over as nothing compared...

I love the elegance of this dress, and that it suits the kind of wedding we are planning in keeping with a rustic-vintage feel, and the biggest plus its no meringue so I can dance the night away in comfort, ahhhhhh getting the maximum amount of time I can in the wedding dress as I don't plan on doing this again.

For me the easy part is now completed and now its time to start looking at bridesmaid dresses in which I am definitely finding a lot harder, having to cater to different body types and find styles that look good on everyone is proving to be difficult.  I have chosen to have grey bridesmaids dresses, so far the selection is not exciting.  So ideas, suggestions and feedback on grey bridesmaid dresses will be very much appreciated!

Online finds

Today felt like Christmas with four packages waiting for me when I got home, I just had to share the fantastic goodies I bought online...my absolute favourite was this dress from Ladakh!

Among the new arrivals were a pair of Hunter Wellies, an essential item for any girl moving to a farm where looking stylish even in gumboots can be achieved.  I like to think that even though I will be living in the middle of nowhere I can still own some beautiful things.  My online weakness is definitely ASOS at the moment, where along with the gumboots, I bought a funky Boyfriend Style watch and Seafolly Convent Garden bikini for my up and coming holiday with James to the Gili Islands.

For some amazing bed linen checkout the website for AURA by Tracie Ellis, I bought the above quilt cover, Sienna in Blackberry to add a rich injection of colour into one of the guest rooms that has white furnishings.
